The Muscle Car is one of the vehicles available in the game Hill Climb Racing 2.
Overview[]
I love the smell of burning rubber in the morning.
The Muscle Car is a vehicle good for both Adventure and Cups thanks to its moderate fuel consumption of 43 seconds, burnout feature and a good top speed of ~23.95 m/s (96.22 km/h). Its default paint has a colour combination of vermillion and blue. It was added in the 1.55.0 update, which released globally on 27th of March, 2023. The Muscle Car was obtainable through the "Muscle Car Mayhem" event at 800 points.
This vehicle has the ability to do a "burnout", which is activated by pressing both pedals when stationary or at a low speed. This will induce the suspension and give the car a multiplied grip boost. When fully upgraded, the burnout gives a total of 6.50x multiplier to the grip. 2.5 seconds of burnout will give you the maximum grip boost possible which will then linearly diminish when you lift the brake and get going. This is also visually shown with the back tire turning red hot. If you do a burnout for less than 2.5 seconds, you will still get a smaller grip boost, because it linearly builds it up. This feature helps for climbing huge hills in both adventure and various other event modes. The Burnout/Grip feature is upgradeable, increasing the grip and multiplying burnout boost for every level. The higher the level, the better the boost.
At the start of a race in Time Attack, holding the accelerator during the countdown and getting a Perfect Start will give the burnout effect, sending you blasting forward with a huge head start. This serves as a suitable replacement for the Start Boost as its burnout boost propels you forwards just as well.
The Muscle Car has the stiffest suspension in the game, its rigidity greatly reduces bounce after impacts, leading to increased stability and control, especially after high-impact landings and on tough terrains.
The vehicle also has a 3-speed automatic transmission, and on every gear change up you get a small impulse forwards to give it the "slamming through the gears" feeling required for all Muscle Cars in real life. The gears are: 1, 2, 3, and R (Reverse). However, when the vehicle still has fuel, in Reverse gear or First (driving slowly or at a stop), the tuning parts Jump Shocks and Thrusters do not activate for the burnout feature. Fortunately, the Jump Shocks do activate when the vehicle has no fuel left (when rolling backwards), and of course anytime when the vehicle is rolling forwards, too. Because of this feature, the reverse gear has a very low speed limit, causing Muscle Car to be one of the slowest and worst vehicles to back up with, along with Motocross, Dune Buggy, Monster Truck, Racing Truck, and CC-EV.

Mastery[]
In update 1.66.0, Muscle Car received Mastery, and was given the following buffs:
XP required for each level: 100000
These Masteries are surprisingly quite basic, improving top speed, grip and fuel. Mega Tank makes Muscle Car's Fuel duration rise from 43 to 48 seconds. The added fuel really helps in Adventure Mode, especially in maps like Mountain or Cuptown, while also helping players do more burnouts within the extra 5 seconds of fuel duration.
Customization[]
See Vehicle Paints List for pictures and more information.
The Muscle Car has 20 different paints and 14 different wheels that can be obtained (VIP paint and wheels aren't included, but you can get it with VIP subscription). After purchasing, it has a free Red paint and two free wheel to start with.
Trivia[]
- In cups, the burnout mechanic sort of works as a built-in minor start boost. If you get a perfect start along with that, you fly ahead of the pack and gain a good head start.
- Unlike all another vehicles, this is the only vehicle with a 3-position gear box.
- Nicknames for Muscle car is The Road Roaster and The WR Killer.
- The tuning part Start Boost on this vehicle is the only one in the game to be nerfed from being at 800 boost at Lvl. 10 (MAX) to 400 boost. The duration is the same as normal.
- Despite having a Supercharger on the front hood, it still has the Heavyweight tuning part, unlike Hot Rod, which also has a supercharger, but lacks the part because of its design. Also, unlike Hot Rod, Muscle Car's supercharger doesn't drain the fuel when in acceleration, doesn't explode or has a detatchable piece on it, as Hot Rod has the top piece, and half the exhaust tubes can be broken off.
- It is one of the three vehicle to have both a feature and with a corresponding Tuning Part (The start boost). the other is CC-EV with a roof and a Rollcage. Motocross also gets a built-in Flip Boost with its Mastery and can still use the Flip Boost Tuning Part.
- Unlike real Muscle Cars which are mostly RWD, this Muscle Car is AWD. Thus, when the extra grip boost is activated through the burnout, the Muscle Car becomes a monster at climbing.
- It seems to be based on the 1968 Ford Mustang (1st Generation) on the front end and the 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda on the rear end.
- It is the most expensive vehicle in the game to max out completely alongside with Raider, costing 17,405,500 coins.
- Muscle Car was originally supposed to get a stronger roof as its first Mastery level, instead of Overdrive. This is evidenced by an unused Mastery icon hidden in the game's files, as well as the official Mastery announcement, mistakenly showing said icon instead of Overdrive's.
