Remember, no one likes to be spammed. Don't overdo it when advertising your team. If you want to join a team, make sure that when you contact someone you include details like how long you've been playing, how many cars you have unlocked and what levels they are, how many KM you think you could drive a week, previous team experience, etc. Simply asking "What's a team's password..." might cause your question to be ignored.

== Team Matching and Scoreboard ==
+
==Team Chest ==
  +
Team Chest (Distance Chest): Every one of your teammates will be able to open a team chest once per week. This team chest can be leveled up by the distance the entire team drives (Maximum 2,500km per player). The overall distance (Maximum 2,500 * 50 = 125,000 km) of your team will be used to level this chest up. Below are listed the overall distance requirements for a certain team chest level and loot up to level 91, which is the max level.

Once a team has five members, a Team Leader or Co-leader can start matching with another team that is ready to play. It can take several minutes to find a suitable match, however most of the time it's instant. Once matched, the team event will start and run for two days. After those two days, the match ends and you get the results and the prizes that come with it. You should be matched with a team that has a similar trophy range.

'''Scoreboard'''

The scoreboard "Top Teams" displays a list of 10,000 teams playing the game and how many trophies they have won. Trophies are won each time a team wins a match. The number of trophies won after each match depends on where the team you've won against sits on the scoreboard. Basically, you will get a higher number of trophies if you win against a team that has a higher position on the scoreboard. If you lose, you will forfeit trophies based on the same logic, unless you have 0 trophies, in which case you will remain at 0. Another factor that can affect the number of trophies you win is the number of trophies you currently have, with the teams located at the top of the leaderboard receiving fewer trophies when they win compared to everyone else below them. This system is based on the [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system ELO] rating.

== Points ==

After competing in a team race you will receive a position based on your overall score. The maximum per track is 10,000 (so 40,000 if there are 4 races, for example). The more race points you score, the higher position on the leaderboard you will be placed. Each position has its an own number of prize points shown below. The team with the most prize points at the end of the event will win the battle. If a team scores over 3,000 points they will be eligible for all prizes. A total of 4,500 points can be distributed between 100 players. If there are less than 100 players then not all points will be distributed. ''Click on the table to see the full standings according to the position.''

===Matching and Points===
  +
Once a team has five members, a Team Leader or Co-leader can start matching with another team that is ready to play. It can take several minutes to find a suitable match, however most of the time it only takes a few seconds. Once matched, the team event will start and run for two days. After those two days, the match ends and you get the results and the prizes that come with it. You will always be matched against a team in the same league (see below) and you won't play against the same team more than once in a season.
  +
  +
After competing in a team race you will receive a position based on your overall score. The maximum per track is 15,000 (so 60,000 if there are 4 races, for example). The more race points you score, the higher position on the leaderboard you will be placed. Each position has its an own number of prize points shown below. The team with the most prize points at the end of the event will win the battle. If a team scores 3,000 or more points they will be eligible for all prizes. A total of 4,526 points can be distributed between 100 players, and a team can get up to 4384. If there are less than 100 players, then not all points will be distributed. ''Click on the table to see the full standings according to the position.''

  +
'''Note:''' Since each team event lasts one week, and each match lasts 2 days, the Team Leader or Co- Leader(s) can create matches with up to four different teams in one event.
== Team Events ==

In the Table Below is a list of the past 3 team events. Every team event lasts one week. To see the previous events, go to [[Team Event Archive]].

Each season will last one month (in sync with trophy road seasons) and matchmaking will be prevented 3 days before the end of the season (1 match length of 2 days + 1 more day for calculations) to ensure all matches are ended and counted fairly.

At the end of the season, based on their placement on the leaderboard, teams can move up or down by 1 or 2 divisions or they can stay in the same division. New teams start at the lowest division - This means the minimum time to rise from the bottom to the top is 4 months.
+
The leaderboard is based on the number of team trophies the teams have. At the end of the season, based on their placement on the leaderboard, teams can move up or down by 1 to 3 divisions or they can stay in the same division. New teams start at the lowest division - This means the minimum time to rise from the bottom to the top is 4 months (see table below).

  +
The team trophies resets to zero at the end of a season, so all the teams in the same division have the same starting conditions in a new season.
The points for the leaderboard are accumulated based on the total team score during a match, so even a losing team will get points from playing the match, and actively avoiding high ranking teams could prove to be an actual detriment to your team positioning. Inactive teams and teams that do not perform well enough will drop positions.

  +
Since the number of team trophies is the accumulated number of points in all team events, losing an event is better for your team than not playing an event at all. So inactive teams will drop down automatically.
Teams will have their team badge borders changed according to the division they are in so that their current division can be easily identified. Each individual players will be rewarded at the end of the season based on the division their team is in, and their position within that division. Higher division & higher placement within your division means higher personal rewards for you.

Teams

Teams were added to Hill Climb Racing 2 during the 1.25.0 update released in the first week of April 2019. The Team update is a significant online update to Hill Climb Racing 2 allowing players to create teams (Clans) containing up to 50 players and battle against other clans in a series of events. Teams will get unlocked after reaching Gold l.

In-Game Tutorial[ | ]

1. Team events consist of a set of different game modes. Drive all of them with the allowed vehicles to get your total score. The team event duration is 2 Days. After 7 days, it will give you a team chest. Team chests contain rare, epic, and depending on the level of the chest, Legendary tuning parts. The more kilometers you go, the better the chest is.

2. You can only use the designated vehicles during a team event. Choose carefully which one to use for each game mode (one vehicle can sometimes also be used several times).

3. Players can get a set amount of Team Event points capped at 300 according to each player's ranking in the total score leaderboard.

4. You and your fellow team members are shown in yellow on the leaderboard. The opposing team are shown in blue.

5. Your team will be competing against another randomly selected team for the event points.

6. You can attempt to improve your score up until the timer ends, but remember, so can your opponents!

7. When the time is up, you will receive a reward based on the number of event points your team has collected. More Event points means more prizes.

Joining a team[ | ]

In order to play teams, you will need to join an existing team or create a new team. To join an existing team you can press the search 🔍 button. A list of recommended teams will be displayed and you can press on a team to join. But the creator of the team may set a required level and in some cases a password is set to join. Alternatively, you can search for a team by name using the search text box. There are various resources available to assist you when finding a team including The Official Hill Climb Racing Discord Chat and The Hill Climb Racing Subreddit.

You can also make your own team for 100 gems. When you create your own team you can leave it open for anyone to join (requirement filter) or closed, which will require a password (filter is still active). You can set a public team description and choose a team logo. Choose your team name carefully as it costs an additional 50 gems to change it after creating the team. Team names are unique. You require at least 5 people in your team to participate in a team event.

Creating a team[ | ]

Here are the steps on how to create a team.

  1. Make sure that you're not in a team yet. If you are, leave the team to create one.
  2. Press the blue "Create" button in the "Search for Teams" page.
  3. A Page with the name "CREATE TEAM" will pop up. Here you can choose the name of your new team, how you want the team badge will look like, the requirements needed for joining your team, and whether or not you want the team to be open (anyone fulfilling the requirements can join) or closed (Only players who fulfill the requirements and have the password that you choose yourself can join). NOTE: Changing the team name after you're done creating it costs gems.
  4. When you're done choosing all of the above, press the blue "Create team" button (which costs 100 gems), and you're all set!

Below are all the different Team Badge icons.

Running a team[ | ]

There are three levels of leadership available within a team.

Level How Abilities
TeamLeader
Leader
Create a team or be appointed to Leader by a Leader who is leaving the team or doesn't want to be leader anymore. Change Team name, description, logo, open/closed status and password ("Closed" allows for password). Edit the requirement filter. Unban kicked players. Promote, demote or kick Co-leaders & Players. Start a Match. Leave the team.

(Cannot leave the team unless another player is assigned as Co-leader who then will become leader. If you are the only person in the team, the team will be removed. If a leader is banned by Fingersoft a Co-leader will be made leader. This works in chronological order. If there are no Co-leaders the oldest player on the team will become the new leader.

CoLeader
Co-Leader
Promoted by Leader or Co-leader by pressing on the players name and pressing "Promote" Co-Leaders can promote or kick Players, but they can’t kick the Leader or other Co-Leaders. They can start a Match.

Co-Leaders can be kicked by the leader.

Co-Leaders can leave the team.

Member Default when joining a team The player can leave the team, or can be kicked by the Leader or a Co-Leader.

Tips

A team will often perform much better when it's running well. Some key recommendations for a team are:

  • Choose a clear searchable name if you want to attract new players. For example: "Canada HCR2" would be a more easily searchable name than "{BP203}Avengers". Searching is case sensitive. Write an enticing and eye-catching team description after choosing a name.
  • Start matches when they're available to start. Rely on Co-leaders to start matches if you're not available. No one wants to be waiting days for a match to start.
  • Communication with your team is important. Use numbers and Emoji if there is a language barrier. For example if the player Bill Newton has got a great score for the team type into chat "Bill Newton 30 172👍"
  • Remember to have fun. Having strict requirements for people to complete like 1000km per week is not sustainable or possible for most players.

Unbanning Players

To unban a player you have previously banned from your team, please follow these steps:

(Note that only the team leader has ability to unban players.)

  • Navigate to the team tab and tap on your teams icon to open the Team Info screen
  • Tap on unban
  • Tap the toggle icon to the right of the person you wish to unban, then tap the unban button. You can unban multiple people simultaneously via this method.

Advertising your team or finding a team to join[ | ]

Other than using the in-game search to find a team, there are several ways to advertise your team in order to get more players or find a team more suited to what you wish to achieve.

  • Discord Chat for Gamers - Via the in-game settings is a link to Discord chat. Discord chat has specific chat rooms under "Teams" category. From there you can send a message to a very large audience and hopefully get lots of replies.
  • Reddit - In this forum, you can create a new post to advertise your team or search through posts to find a team to join.
  • Social Media including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter & Instagram. By searching for keywords like Fingersoft or variou clan names you might be able to meet other players and discuss how to join their team.
  • YouTube - YouTube has a variety of videos about team events. There you can find other teams that are looking for you.

Team Chest[ | ]

Team Chest (Distance Chest): Every one of your teammates will be able to open a team chest once per week. This team chest can be leveled up by the distance the entire team drives (Maximum 2,500km per player). The overall distance (Maximum 2,500 * 50 = 125,000 km) of your team will be used to level this chest up. Below are listed the overall distance requirements for a certain team chest level and loot up to level 91, which is the max level.

Note: The numbers that are in each tuning part's rarity column represent the minimal amount of these tuning part's rarity you can obtain in the team distance chest (these numbers vary from one level to another). For the coins and the gems, the numbers represent the exact amount you will get for each team distance chest level.

Team Events[ | ]

Matching and Points[ | ]

Once a team has five members, a Team Leader or Co-leader can start matching with another team that is ready to play. It can take several minutes to find a suitable match, however most of the time it only takes a few seconds. Once matched, the team event will start and run for two days. After those two days, the match ends and you get the results and the prizes that come with it. You will always be matched against a team in the same league (see below) and you won't play against the same team more than once in a season.

Click on the table to see the full standings according to the position.

Note: Since each team event lasts one week, and each match lasts 2 days, the Team Leader or Co- Leader(s) can create matches with up to four different teams in one event.

Climb Canyon League Logo

Leagues is a team sorting system that introduced in 1.44 updates, that divide teams into 8 separate divisions and each team will battle opposing teams inside their division bracket, trying to improve their division ranking at the end of a season.

Each season will last one month (in sync with trophy road seasons) and matchmaking will be prevented 3 days before the end of the season (1 match length of 2 days + 1 more day for calculations) to ensure all matches are ended and counted fairly.

The team trophies resets to zero at the end of a season, so all the teams in the same division have the same starting conditions in a new season.

Since the number of team trophies is the accumulated number of points in all team events, losing an event is better for your team than not playing an event at all. So inactive teams will drop down automatically.

Teams will have their team badge borders changed according to the division they are in so that their current division can be easily identified. Each individual player will be rewarded at the end of the season based on the division their team is in, and their position within that division. Higher division & higher placement within your division means higher personal rewards for you.

Leagues system rewards you different amount of rewards based on in which division your team is on.

The tables below shows order of division from highest to lowest, amount of rewards you will claim based on which division your team is on, and team ranks requirement to get up or down to another division level.
